European regulators have pulled ingredients while the science was still unsettled. US rules generally keep an additive approved until the evidence against it is strong. Both approaches are defensible; they just weigh uncertainty differently, and you can see the difference on American shelves. Simply Pure scores every product against the stricter European assessments and cites its sources: EFSA, SCCS, Health Canada, Japan's positive list. And because a flag is not a verdict, the app also estimates how much of an additive one serving contains and measures it against official daily intake limits.

Most scoring apps let a strong nutrition number paper over a risky ingredient, and an organic label buys points it did not earn. Missing data gets treated as good news. We built Simply Pure to do none of that.
No organic halo
Certification describes farming practice, not ingredient safety, so it earns zero points. It's shown as information, never as a score boost.
Missing data is never rewarded
If we can't see the ingredients or the nutrition facts, that part of the score is removed from the math, not scored as perfect. No data at all means no score at all.
Honest about uncertainty
Where an official daily intake limit exists, we estimate how much of it one serving uses. Where we can't estimate, the app says "dose not estimated" instead of pretending.

Keto, low-sodium, and other preferences reweight the nutrition math, capped at twelve points, so a preference can never drown out a safety signal.

How do I install it on iPhone?
Simply Pure is on the App Store. Tap Download on the App Store and install it like any other app. It is free, there is no account to create, and updates arrive automatically.
How do I install it on Android?
Three steps: join the tester group, become a tester, install from the Play Store. They're laid out right here. Use the same Google account for all three steps.
I became an Android tester but I can't download the app yet.
That's normal: it can take up to 24 hours after you become a tester for the download to unlock on your account. If it still isn't working after a day, email [email protected] and we'll get you sorted.
How do I get the latest app version?
On iPhone, update from the App Store like any other app. On Android, update from the Play Store, or if you installed the APK from this site, tap the update card on the app's home screen. Your history and preferences stay put through every update. You can see which version you're on at the bottom of your profile in the app.
How do updates reach me?
App Store and Play Store installs update themselves; you don't have to do anything. If you installed the APK directly from this site, the app tells you on its home screen when a new version is ready; one tap downloads it, and installing over the old version keeps your history and preferences.
Why is the iPhone app behind Android or this website?
Apple reviews every new version by hand before the App Store is allowed to deliver it, and that review can take days or even weeks. While a version waits in review, you stay on the last approved build, so the iPhone app can run several versions behind Android and behind the screenshots on this site. Nothing is wrong with your install: the moment Apple approves the new version, the App Store updates you automatically. Android has no such waiting period, which is why the two apps sometimes look different for a while.
The score doesn't match the label in my hand.
Product data is stored per barcode, and manufacturers sometimes reformulate a product or sell different recipes in different regions under similar packaging. If what you see in the app differs from the physical label, trust the label, then fix it for everyone: open the product in the app, tap the edit option, and photograph the label. Corrections are reviewed by a person before going live.
