Terms of use

The short version: Simply Pure is an informational tool, its data comes from a community, what you contribute gets shared back to that community, and supporting is voluntary. Scanning and scores are free for everyone; supporters unlock premium features.

What Simply Pure is

Simply Pure is an informational service. A Simply Pure score summarizes published regulatory assessments of a product's ingredients and its nutrition facts. It is general information, not medical advice, and no single product makes a diet healthy or unhealthy. For individual dietary or health decisions, talk to a qualified professional. Data accuracy

Product data comes from the Open Food Facts family of community databases and from contributions by Simply Pure users. We review contributions before publishing them, but community data can be incomplete or out of date, and we cannot guarantee its accuracy. Always check the physical label, especially for allergens.

Your submissions

By submitting photos, text, or data through the app, you grant Simply Pure a perpetual right to publish that material to all Simply Pure users and to contribute it to Open Food Facts under the Open Database License. Only submit content you have the right to share.

Intellectual property

The Simply Pure apps and this website, including their source code, design, graphics, original written risk assessments and editorial notes, the organization and selection of our ingredient databases, and the Simply Pure name and logo, are the property of Studio86 and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Using the app gives you no license to copy, reproduce, redistribute, or scrape that original material, or to present it as your own, without our prior written permission. Product data contributed to Open Food Facts remains under its own Open Database License, and nothing here restricts your rights to that data under that license.

Acceptable use

Don't submit false, misleading, or malicious content. Submissions are reviewed and may be rejected, and repeated abuse may result in submissions from your device being blocked.

Support and premium features

Supporter contributions are voluntary and non-refundable, and renew annually until canceled. Active supporters unlock premium features in the app, such as themes and diet filters, along with premium features added in the future. The core service, including scanning, scores, and history, stays free for everyone. Payments are processed by Stripe on our website; card details never touch our servers. Premium features may change over time as the app evolves.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simply Pure and Studio86 are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on its information.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If we make material changes, we will update this page and its effective date; continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
